Season 9: A New Accord is live!

Star Trek Online's Season 9: A New Accord is now live! There is a huge list of updates in this new season, including a new custom kit system, a revamped trait system, a new reputation system, a new Earth Spacedock interior map, a new featured episode and new queued mission events and more!

First Contact Day Event Live!

From now until April 7 10am Pacific Time, Star Trek Online is celebrating First Contact Day for the Federation, Day of Honor for the Klingon Empire, and new this year for the Romulan Republic, Republic Day!

See your faction's flagship captains to take part:

Federation Captains should visit Captain Shon aboard the Enterprise-F to meet the crew and receive a Phoenix replica representing Earth's first warp-capable spacecraft!

Onboard the Klingon flagship Botasqu', Captain Koren will have a task for you to complete for the Klingon Day of Honor. Your reward for this will be a special Tritanium Rending Bat'leth!

Romulan players will want to visit Commander Tiaru Jarok aboard the Republic flagship Lleiset. Upon completing the task there, you'll be rewarded with a nanov non-combat pet!

Mirror Universe Invasion Event

Star Trek Online has revamped the Mirror Universe Invasion event! Now Obisek's Vauthil Station is under attack from the Terran Empire and needs the aid of Starfleet and the KDF! During this event (March 13-April 2), players will be able to run a special reputation project for Dilithium, extra Marks, or a unique Duty Officer!

Bonus Marks Weekend!

Time for another special weekend event in Star Trek Online! Starting tomorrow, 20 Feb. 2014 (after the morning patch est. 10am PST) until 24 Feb 2014 (10am PST), ALL content that awards Fleet and Reputation Marks will be giving out an extra 50%! Time to start moving up the reputation ladders!

Season 8.5 and Event System Revamp

Hi everyone! Season 8.5 is here today and it's bringing a lot of changes with it (patch notes here). Among those changes, and dear to the heart of this blog are changes to the Event System. You may have read the recent devblog regarding this revamp, but one of the major changes is that Cryptic is moving away from the hourly event system that has been in place for two years now and will be changing it up for more daily or weekly events.

What does this mean for SubSpace Agenda? Well, as you may have seen from the large calendar above, I've removed the regular hourly content from the future timeslots. The ongoing weekly content remains, and probably in the future I'll be switching the calendar's default weekly view to a monthly view instead. I may make more format changes here as soon as more information becomes available about upcoming events and we see more details about how these weekly/daily events will unfold.

Until then, Happy Fourth Anniversary STO, and enjoy Season 8.5!!!

Pre-Anniversary Giveaway Day 1: Polytrinic Acid Horta

Star Trek Online is turning 4 years old next week, and in preparation for the celebration, they're giving away a free C-Store item each day until the big event (starting on Thursday, 1/30/2014)!!! Each of these items are account unlockable and only available for free one day at a time so make sure to get them while you can

The first item up for grabs is the Polytrinic Acid Horta! This combat pet will burn its way through enemies on your command!

The Polytrinic Acid Horta fed on various ores as it developed. Its silicate geology converted the metals into acids and salts, giving it more powerful acid attacks than a Horta Ally. However, it is not as resilient as other Hortas.

Note: This is a special version of the Horta Combat Pet in that it is an account-wide unlock, and reclaimable if dismissed. It is normally a single-character unlock that must be repurchased if dismissed, traded, etc.

Crystalline Entity Event Returning!

The Crystalline Entity is coming back with a chance to earn more Dilithium, Fleet Marks, and Reputation Marks! No news yet on how long this event will last, but more news should be available by the time the event makes its comeback this Thursday Sept. 26! Catch more information about it here or on Star Trek Online's devblog.

UPDATE: The Crystalline Entity Event will be here for three weeks, until October 17, 10am Pacific Time! Queue up for the 10-captain “Crystalline Cataclysm” event to defeat the Crystalline Entity and earn one Crystal Shard every 20 hours. After collecting 14 shards, players can complete a new Event Reputation project to be rewarded with 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of their choice (Fleet, Omega, Romulan or Nukara), and a Very Rare Gravimetric Scientist Duty Officer!

Dilithium Mine Special Project #5: "On Display"

Star Trek Online's fifth special project for Fleet Dilithium Mines goes live tomorrow, August 22 2013, and will be available to start until Sept 5, 2013.

Titled "On Display", this project will add Dilithium Crystal displays, suspended in beams of light around the interior of your fleet's Dilithium Mine!

Dilithium Mine Special Project #4: "Motherlode"

Star Trek Online's fourth special project for Fleet Dilithium Mines went live yesterday, August 8 2013, and will be available to start until August 22, 2013.

Titled "Motherlode", this project will add more Dilithium Crystal visuals around the exterior of your fleet's Dilithium Mine!

Dilithium Mine Special Project #2: "Welcoming Entry"

Star Trek Online's second special project for Fleet Dilithium Mines will become available to start tomorrow, July 11, 2013, until maintenance time on July 25!

Titled "Welcoming Entry", this update will open up the floors to see the Dilithium below, as well as displaying EVA suits around the mine.

Community Dancing and Dabo Event 7/10/2013

STO Community Manager PWE Branflakes is organizing an in-game (Holodeck) Dancing and Dabo Social Party for this coming Wednesday!

HOLODECK update: 6/20/2013

Star Trek Online's live HOLODECK shard got a significant update today, not the least of which is the new Dilithium Mine Fleet Holding! Fleets leveling up their mines will see a discounted rate on Dilithium, Fleet Mark, and Commodity inputs for the rest of their Fleet Holdings such as the Fleet Starbase and Fleet Embassy on New Romulus, so fleets will likely see this as a priority to level up first.

Dilithium Mine Featured Project #1: "Let the Starlight In"

The first featured project for the Fleet Dilithium Mine scheduled to become available in tomorrow's Holodeck Update in Star Trek Online is called "Let the Starlight In" and will be available to start until July 4, 2013! Once completed, your Fleet Dilithium Mine will be opened up with a view to the stars!
